GSR Group offers lecture presentations on various topics conducted in an
informal-type setting providing information & recommendations to groups.
Most presentations are approximately 2 - 4 hours long but can be modified to your requirements.
Home Defense Rifle
Do you have a semi-auto rifle that you use for home defense?? Many people do. But what’s the correct way to set it up for that purpose??
What has traditionally been handled by a pistol or shotgun is now being handled by a semi-auto rifle, mostly due to the fact that so many Americans are buying them, but also because so many of our troops have come home from war and are intimately familiar with a rifle. However, using a rifle inside your home is quite different than using it on the battlefield. Additionally, many shooters purchase certain equipment because elite military units use it. However, that elite military unit is most likely using that equipment in a completely different environment than home defense. Instead of helping the home defender, some of that equipment may actually hinder or interfere with the response.
This lecture/presentation presents thoughts on setting up a home defense rifle. It will dispel certain myths and provide realistic recommendations for you to set up your rifle to keep your family safe inside your home.
General-Purpose Rifle
Do you have a semi-auto rifle that you use for multiple reasons?? Everything from home defense through target shooting, hunting, and even placing rounds on target out to several hundred yards. Many people do. But what’s the correct way to set it up for those purposes??
Having a rifle set up specifically for long distance shooting will hinder it’s use inside a home. Likewise, having a true CQB, or close quarters rifle, will not perform as well at distance. If you want one rifle for numerous situations (a Jack of all Trades), compromises must be made.
This lecture/presentation presents thoughts on setting up a general-purpose rifle. It will dispel certain myths and provide realistic recommendations for you to set up your rifle to use in various environments.
Tactical Gear
For various reasons law abiding citizens are purchasing or considering purchasing tactical gear. Whether you have a high-risk job, you’re a prepper, or you’re LARPing with your buddies, the internet is full of advertisements for tactical gear & people are buying it like mad. But where to begin?? What do you actually need?? Once you have it, how do you set it up??
This presentation will provide an overview of many of the various types of tactical gear, their uses, and pro’s & cons. Tactical gear is expensive. Buying the incorrect item for your needs and finding out after the purchase that it’s not what you hoped is just wasting money. After attending this seminar, you will be better informed on what to purchase for your specific needs, and if you should even make a purchase at all.

"Be A Survivor"
A check of the news reveals that Active Shooter incidents are entirely too common. Even after decades of these events being in the news, some recent events have not been brought to an end quickly enough. And what do unarmed people trapped inside the building do before first responders arrive??
This lecture/presentation provides an abbreviated history of Active Shooter incidents, and then provides options for those trapped inside. It instills the mindset to Be a Survivor, not a victim; And it provides guidance to assist in that process.
